2024 Board of Management Elections
As every year, this year, too, an Election General Assembly will be held to elect new members to the Board of Management whose terms are ending. The Board consists of eight members, each elected for a two-year term. Elections occur annually, with usually half of the Board members (four) stepping down upon completion of their term. This year, five individuals will be elected due to the voluntary resignation of Sarah Petridou.
The elections will be conducted electronically, and members who have settled their financial obligations can vote online via mobile or website starting from December 6, 2024. The process will conclude during the 2024 Annual General Assembly, where the new Board members will be announced.
How can I participate in the elections?
Members wishing to participate in the Election process must complete the Candidate Application Form available here by Sunday, December 1, 2024, at 23:59. Only individuals who were members before October 7 (two months before the elections) are eligible to stand as candidates.
How do I renew my membership?
- During the General Assembly: You can settle your membership if you have not already done so.
- Online: If you have not paid your subscription for 2024 or previous years, you can do so via the link: https://accept.cy/members/.
- If you are unsure how much you owe: Send an email to the organisation’s treasurer at [email protected] to find out the outstanding amount you need to pay.
- Reminder: The annual subscription fee is €10.
Who can vote in the elections?
All members registered before October 7, 2024, and who have settled their financial obligations to the organisation can vote. They will receive special instructions on how to vote separately. Members who have not paid their subscription for three consecutive years are automatically removed from the registry and need to re-enroll as new members.
How will the new members of the Board of Management be elected?
The five new members will be announced at the end of the 2024 Annual General Assembly.
- Members with a two-year term: The four candidates with the most votes will serve for two years (first round of voting according to the constitution).
- Member with a one-year term: The fifth member, having received the least votes among the top five, will serve for one year, replacing Sarah Petridou (second round of voting according to the constitution).
- Runners-up: The remaining candidates who received at least one vote from 20% of the valid ballots will be runners-up. The priority order of runners-up is determined by the number of votes each candidate received.
